Uruguayan Delivery Driver Defends Himself with Machete During Robbery Attempt

A security camera video shows how a delivery driver in Montevideo, Uruguay, defended himself from an attempted robbery by pulling a machete from his backpack. The incident occurred in the Brazo Oriental neighborhood on Saturday night and quickly went viral on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

The event took place around 10:00 PM when the delivery driver had parked his vehicle to make a delivery. In the video, the man is seen knocking on the door of a house when he notices two individuals approaching.

Calmly, the driver goes to his delivery box, pulls out a machete, and prepares to face the situation.

The two robbers attempt to surround him, one from the front and the other from the side, but are taken aback by the driver’s swift reaction. Upon seeing the machete, both flee, but one of them is caught and appears to be struck several times.

The accomplice tries to help but flees again when the driver threatens him with the weapon.

So far, authorities have not issued any statements about the incident, and the identities of those involved remain unknown.
