Courier attacked by crowd after previous attack on a drunk

In São Bento do Sul, in the Planalto Norte of Santa Catarina, Brazil, a courier was the target of an attack by local residents, after an altercation with a drunk person on a busy city street. The incident left the courier with serious injuries and sparked a police investigation to identify the attackers.

On the night of Wednesday, February 13, around 11:42 p.m., Military Firefighters received a call to provide assistance to a man injured in the head and with a suspected fracture in an arm, in addition to complaining of pain in his left leg. and back.

According to witnesses, three men armed with a crowbar and a wrench got out of a black vehicle and carried out the attack on the courier, who was approximately 30 years old.

The messenger confirmed to the firefighters that he was attacked by unknown persons with metal objects, in what appears to be an act of revenge for the previous altercation with a drunk person.

The two incidents were captured on videos that circulated on social media, showing the courier involved in a physical altercation with an intoxicated individual in the first video, and being insulted and attacked by a crowd in the second.

Gil Ribas, head of the Civil Police, reported that none of those involved in the attack have been arrested so far. The authorities received the images and the police report on Thursday, February 14, and the investigation is ongoing to identify those responsible and take the corresponding measures.
