Fight between Agmeth Escaf and Miguel Ángel Del Río, Vicky Dávila and Daniel Briceño add fuel to the fire

In the midst of the political scandal that agitates the Historical Pact: There are accusations between Agmeth Escaf and Miguel Ángel Del Río

The Pacto Histórico political party, led by President Gustavo Petro, is in the midst of a new scandal due to cross accusations between representative Agmeth Escaf and lawyer Miguel Ángel Del Río. The internal cracks have deepened after Escaf publicly denounced that Del Río had offered a considerable sum to the Pact's campaign in the Atlantic.

According to Escaf, Del Río would have contributed 500 million pesos to the campaign, which generated great controversy and discomfort in the ranks of the party. The representative assures that due to these affirmations, he is preparing a complaint before the Supreme Court of Justice against Del Río for alleged irregularities in the financing of the campaign.

Escaf's accusation is also a response to statements by Nicolás Petro, son of President Gustavo Petro, who had pointed out that Del Río's candidacy would have been an imposition of Verónica Alcocer, the first lady. According to Nicolás Petro, the formation of the closed list of candidates for the Chamber in the Atlantic was due to internal political decisions.

Escaf, who lacks political experience, maintains that he faced obstacles within the Atlantic Pact because some leaders considered him an "infiltrator of Clan Char." He indicated that they were seeking to nominate Del Río, a criminal lawyer, despite the lack of recognition of him in the region.

In the midst of this confrontation, Escaf revealed a conversation in which Nicolás Petro would have asked him how much money he was willing to contribute to the campaign, since Del Río would have offered 500 million. These affirmations were denied by Del Río, who announced that he will file a complaint against Escaf before the Supreme Court of Justice to provide evidence of his accusations.

Meanwhile, Vicky Dávila publishes a note in which she summarizes the scandals that persecute Miguel Ángel Del Río, to which the lawyer responds as follows: "Neither the Prosecutor's Office nor you can deal with me."

Faced with such a comment, Daniel Briceño, also a lawyer and political analyst, responded to Miguel Ángel Del Río: "But Agmeth Escaf yes."

The political scandal has further divided the party and has generated strong debates around transparency in the financing of political campaigns and the internal practices of the Historical Pact.
