Mother Dies in Front of Her 8-Year-Old Daughter After Being Attacked by Her Ex-Partner
A 28-year-old Venezuelan woman who emigrated to Brazil to give her children a better future was murdered by her ex-partner in front of her 8-year-old daughter
What began as a mother's dream of providing for her children in another country ended in the most tragic way. Jhorlianny Jose Sanchez Gil, a 28-year-old Venezuelan woman who had been living in Brazil for two and a half years, lost her life inside her home in Caiapônia, Goiás state, after being attacked by her ex-partner, who already had a restraining order against him but continued to stalk her.
The scene was witnessed by the woman's daughter, an 8-year-old girl, who, upon hearing the screams, ran desperately to a neighbor's house for help. When the Military Police arrived, they found Jhorlianny lying on the ground without vital signs, while the assailant attempted to escape in a vehicle along a nearby road.
The officers initiated a pursuit and managed to intercept him minutes later. During the arrest, the man confessed to killing his ex-partner after an argument and even admitted to throwing the weapon used in the crime into a grassy area before trying to flee.

Behind the crime lies a history of persistence and harassment that the family had known for months. According to her aunt, Yosleidy Gil, Jhorlianny had been in a relationship with the suspect for approximately a year, but in December she decided to end it and told her family that she no longer wanted to be with him. Shortly afterward, she reported him for harassment and obtained a restraining order.
However, according to her aunt, the man never respected that order.
“He never obeyed the restraining order and constantly harassed her,” the relative told the Brazilian news outlet g1.

Jhorlianny had left Venezuela with the help of a friend with a single goal: to work hard to provide a better life for her children. In Caiapônia, she worked at a gas station, while before that she had worked in a shoe store in her home country. In addition to the 8-year-old daughter who lived with her in Brazil, she had another son who remains in Venezuela with his father.
Her family describes her as a cheerful, playful woman who was extremely devoted to her loved ones. She was always ready to help anyone she could and, above all, to keep fighting for her children despite having started over in a new country.
