Man is murdered in barbershop by masked hitman

In a tragic event that occurred in the district of Ate, Lima, Peru, a man of Venezuelan nationality identified as Luis Carlos Acuña Ojeda was murdered by a hitman while he was in a barbershop. The attack occurred at the intersection of La Mar and Urubamba avenues around 8:50 p.m. on May 17.

Acuña Ojeda, who worked as a motorcycle taxi driver on nearby avenues, was surprised by the hitman who shot him five times, ending his life instantly.

The authorities have indicated that they have not ruled out the possibility that the murder is linked to extortion related to the payment of vaccines, a common practice in some areas of the country. However, the victim's relatives have stated that Acuña had not received prior threats.

Footage from the barbershop's security cameras shows the killer entering with his face covered by a balaclava. When he tried to shoot at first, the hitman's gun jammed, but he managed to unblock it and fire the fatal shots.

After the crime, the attacker escaped on a motorcycle that was waiting for him outside the premises. All this happened in less than a minute and before the astonished gaze of the other customers present.

The National Police of Peru has indicated that the recordings from the security cameras both inside the barbershop and on the street will be crucial to identifying the murderer and his accomplice.
