Man ends his partner's life and begs the police to shoot him

Merlo authorities in Argentina, were shaken by an act of incomprehensible violence when Matías Alejandro Guiñazú, 43, was found in his home next to the lifeless body of his partner, Soledad Ibáñez, 42.

Alarmed neighbors had alerted the police about screams and a loud argument in the house located at 500 José Martí. Upon arriving at the scene, the agents witnessed a scene of horror through a window: Guiñazú was lying bloody next to Ibáñez, who was lying motionless face down.

Guiñazú, with a knife in his hand and threatening to take his own life, challenged the police, asking that they shoot him. Despite the agents' desperate attempts to dissuade him, the femicide remained firm in his demand for his death.

Finally, after an intense confrontation, Guiñazú was subdued and detained, while Ibáñez was declared dead by medical personnel who found at least 28 stab wounds on her body.

Guiñazú's dark past came to light, revealing a history of gender violence in Morón, including a suspended sentence in 2021 for violating a perimeter restriction in a previous relationship.

His social media posts showed an apparent happy relationship with Ibáñez, which has left his friends dismayed by this act of extreme violence.

“You weren't man enough to accept what she told you not to. You took the life out of her, she didn't deserve that ending. “I will always miss you, Sol. I will always carry you in my heart,” wrote a relative of the victim on social media.

The attacker, hospitalized and in custody, faces accusations for the brutal femicide of Soledad Ibañez. Matías must be held accountable for his crime in prison once he recovers.
