Four young people are found shot to death

On Monday morning (April 1), the city of Barro Preto, in southern Bahia, Brazil, was plunged into horror when the bodies of four young people were discovered in a rural area of the municipality. The local Civil Police reported that the victims had multiple gunshot wounds and were tied together.

The young people were identified as Samyr Emanuel dos Santos Nunes, 19 years old; Gustavo Silva Lima, 17 years old; John Lenon Ramos Santos, 26 years old; and Jamylle Ramos Santos, 24 years old. According to preliminary information, the victims were kidnapped on Sunday night (March 31).

Witnesses report that three armed men approached them and took them to a wooded area. Nearby residents reported hearing gunshots during the night, although they initially thought they were hunters.

The bodies were found in an area that was difficult to access and had at least 20 gunshot wounds. The case has been placed under investigation by the Civil Police of Barro Preto, with the support of the VI Regional Coordination of the Interior Police (Coorpin/Itabuna) and the Coordination of Technical Support for the Investigation (Cati/Sul).

Although the first investigations point to a possible connection with drug trafficking, it is noted that the victims had no police record. To date, no information has been revealed about those responsible for this reprehensible crime.
