Reckless teenagers lost their lives after being stuck behind a truck
The truck to which they were holding made a sudden braking movement that caused another truck that was coming behind to run over them.
Two adolescents lost their lives in a tragic traffic accident on the afternoon of April 3 near Parque del Artista, in Itagüí, Antioquia.
According to the authorities, the young people were riding a bicycle and were glued to the back of a truck when it made a sudden braking movement that caused another truck that was coming behind to not react in time and ran over them.
At the scene of the accident there was another minor on a bicycle, who managed to avoid the crash and emerged unharmed from the incident, according to eyewitnesses.
The deputy commander of the Itagüí Mobility Secretariat, Juan Eugenio González, sent his condolences and solidarity to the families of the victims and announced that an investigation will be opened to clarify the events that led to this unfortunate outcome.
González also called on citizens to respect traffic regulations and to exercise caution on public roads, recalling that the Ministry of Mobility is constantly working on educational campaigns to prevent accidents and correct violations on public roads.
