Businessman and consultant murdered in armed attack in Bogotá

The attack occurred in Parque de la 93, triggering a shootout that left one fatal victim


On the morning of this Wednesday, February 21, Bogotá was shocked by a violent attack in Parque de la 93, which resulted in the tragic death of the renowned businessman and consultant Hernán Roberto Franco Charry. The incident, classified as a murder, occurred around 7:00 a.m. m. when Franco Charry was heading to his workplace in the north of the city.

The tragic event involved armed criminals who approached Franco Charry and shot at him, unleashing a shootout in which one person was also injured. Despite receiving the support of bodyguards, the fatal victim was traveling alone according to the confirmation of Colonel Juan Carlos Arévalo, operational commander of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police. Subsequently, Franco Charry was transferred to the El Country clinic with four gunshot wounds to his body, where unfortunately his death was confirmed.

The El Country clinic issued a statement reporting that the two injured men entered the emergency room with gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of the multidisciplinary medical team, Hernán Roberto Franco Charry was admitted without vital signs and was taken directly to the surgery rooms, where resuscitation maneuvers were performed.

Hernán Roberto Franco Charry, brother of the former director of Dian, Óscar Franco Charry, was a prominent businessman and consultant. His career focused on offering advisory and consulting services to various companies, and this Wednesday he had an appointment scheduled to address irregularities found in the audit of a private company.

Franco Charry, described as an elegant, tall and imposing man who "did not go unnoticed", also had an exposed personal life. He was married to the model and presenter Alejandra Isaza, with whom he had a daughter. However, their marriage ended in the middle of a case of domestic violence, reported by Isaza, which led them both to leave Bogotá and return to her hometown, Medellín.
