Used vehicle dealer with criminal record is murdered
The deceased had five notes since 2009, he was carrying a weapon with safe conduct at the time of his murder
Bucaramanga, Colombia — The murder of José Luis Chaparro, a 33-year-old used vehicle dealer, in an act of hitman that occurred in a kinesiology store in the San Alonso neighborhood. The incident took place on Sunday morning on 17th Street and 33A Avenue, and was recorded by the establishment's security cameras.
Chaparro, who had survived a previous attack in October, was approached by two armed individuals while waiting in the room of the local “Kinesiologist Masseuse Orlando Garrido.” The attackers, pretending to request an appointment, identified him and proceeded to shoot him indiscriminately, hitting him in the head and arms.
Colonel Diego Pinzón, Operational Commander of the Bucaramanga Metropolitan Police, reported that Chaparro was shot three times, in his head and arms, resulting in his immediate death at the scene. The attackers fled on a motorcycle after the crime.
The authorities confirmed that Chaparro had a criminal record for several crimes, including negligent injuries in 2020, fraud in 2019, theft in 2016, falsification of documents in 2012 and 2009, abuse of trust in 2011 and weapons trafficking also in 2011. This homicide occurs after Chaparro was saved from another assassination attempt in October, where he was injured and Fabián Eduardo de Alba Pérez, alias 'La Mechuda', lost his life. On that occasion, Chaparro and 'La Mechuda' were attacked while they were traveling on a motorcycle along Santander Boulevard in the San Francisco neighborhood.
