The man was shot to death in a pool hall in the Alfonso López neighborhood in the city of Cúcuta, in Colombia

In a tragic event that occurred in the Alfonso López neighborhood of Cúcuta, Colombia, Jesús Andrés Carreño Sarmiento, 33, was the victim of an armed attack while he was at a local pool hall.

The incident took place on 16th Avenue and 22nd Street, when two men on a motorcycle arrived at the establishment and shot Carreño, who had just been released from prison in November of the previous year.

The fateful event occurred at 9:20 on Friday night, when the victim was in the company of a woman at the pool hall. Two individuals arrived at the scene on a black Suzuki GN motorcycle. While one of the men parked, the other entered the premises and shot Carreño, who was at the door, twice.

Neighbors were plunged into fear, with residents choosing to shelter in place in their homes until authorities arrived.

Jesús Carreño, who used to frequent billiards every Friday, had recently been released from prison after serving two years in prison for crimes related to extortion, personal injury, theft, possession of firearms and drug trafficking.
