Weapons Youtuber Survives Rocket Launcher Explosion
He should be dead, said the astonished doctors who treated him
A renowned YouTuber dedicated to testing various weapons, Adam Knowles, a US Army veteran, experienced a dangerous accident that could have cost him his life. Knowles shared the dramatic event on his YouTube channel, Ballistic High-Speed, where he tests and analyzes different weapons, including the RPG-7, a portable anti-tank rocket launcher of Soviet origin.
The video shows the moment the rocket launcher experiences a critical failure during testing, resulting in an explosion while Knowles was holding the weapon. Fortunately, the YouTuber was protected with a helmet, which possibly saved his life. The explosion generated a flare of fire that engulfed the veteran, causing his helmet and implements to fly on impact.
Despite being left with a shattered cheekbone, a brain hemorrhage, shrapnel wounds and extensive burns, Knowles survived the impact he received. In the video, the YouTuber reflects on the magnitude of the accident and points out that several doctors told him that "he should be dead."
Previously, Knowles had conducted tests where he showed the devastating effect of weapons on dolls, highlighting the danger of these devices. On this occasion, his intention was to demonstrate the direct impact of the butt of the rocket launcher on the head. However, the accident resulted in his helmet and safety visor flying off, and his bulletproof vest hanging from his body as he was thrown unconscious to the ground with the camera still on.
After the incident, Knowles' colleagues rushed to treat him and called 911 to request immediate medical assistance. The YouTuber was taken to the hospital, where he received treatments for his injuries, including multiple skin grafts for his severely burned arms. Despite the traumatic experience, Knowles announced that he will continue his YouTube channel, exploring and testing different firearms.
