Woman with bushy beard breaks female stereotypes
A woman from Seattle, United States, is challenging beauty stereotypes by proudly growing her beard.
Coral, as she calls herself, has been dealing with hirsutism, a condition that causes excessive hair growth on the face, chest and back due to a condition called polycystic ovary, since her childhood.
For years, she shaved every day and wore makeup to hide her beard, even from her partners. But after years of hiding her true appearance, Coral decided it was time to be true to herself and she stopped shaving.
Since then, she has been sporting her beard with pride of hers and has found great support in her husband, who says he accepts her with all her conditions.
"I think I started shaving because it was the right thing to do. I noticed other kids commenting on my bushy sideburns. I would shave every morning when I woke up and by 2pm I had a full beard," Coral says. . Now, after a year without shaving, the woman says she feels more confident and beautiful than she ever has been before.
