Young woman falls into the void while recording a video for TikTok in Tbilisi

Arina Glazunova, a 24-year-old young tiktoker from Moscow, tragically died in the early hours of the morning while recording a video with her friend in the city of Tbilisi, Georgia. The fateful accident occurred at the entrance to a metro station when Arina, distracted while singing and walking, did not notice the danger posed by a small wall without railings, falling down some concrete stairs.

The video, which captured her last moments, shows Arina performing a song by the Russian band Hunger Boys, "For The Last Time", before losing her balance and falling. The screams of her friends can be heard in the video as they try to help her, but unfortunately, she was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries and a broken neck that caused her death.

The accident has generated a huge impact on social media, where the TikTok community has expressed their shock and sadness. At the scene of the accident, friends and neighbours have placed flowers and messages in her memory, turning the site into a tribute point.

This event has also rekindled a strong debate about pedestrian safety in Tbilisi, as local residents have denounced the danger posed by the wall without adequate protection.

One resident, Dato Akobia, shared his concern on social media, noting that "anyone could have fallen." The lack of safety measures at the access to the metro has been pointed out as a factor that could have prevented the tragedy.
