Sergio Jiménez Ramos, Content Creator, Dies After High-Risk Private Challenge

The death of digital content creator Sergio Jiménez Ramos during a private broadcast has generated profound shock in Spain and reopened the debate about the limits of donation-funded viral challenges on digital platforms. The death occurred in the Catalan town of Vilanova i la Geltrú and took place during a closed video call, intended exclusively for users who had paid to participate.

According to reports, Jiménez, 37, was participating in an extreme challenge that included the continuous consumption of substances and whiskey. The session was not public: it was restricted to a small group of donors who, in exchange for financial contributions, requested increasingly risky challenges.

In previous social media posts, the creator himself promoted these types of private encounters, offering access for five euros, with messages that emphasized closeness and permanence with his followers.

Authorities confirmed the opening of an investigation to clarify the exact circumstances of the death. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) stated that the case is under analysis and that evidence is being gathered to determine potential liability.

According to a local news outlet, the creator's rise in the digital sphere was linked to his close relationship with another influencer, Simón Pérez, who popularized a donation system based on high-risk viral challenges requested by viewers in real time. This model, according to the same source, encouraged extreme behaviors, including excessive substance use, in exchange for financial contributions.

After the death, Pérez posted a video in which he claimed that the victim had ingested a significant amount of cocaine over a period of approximately three hours and stated that he had previously warned him about the risk of an overdose.

Days later, TikTok closed Simón Pérez's account, while authorities began analyzing audio from the private broadcast in which some participants allegedly encouraged drug use during the final moments.

Forensic experts have already performed the corresponding autopsy, and official confirmation of the clinical cause of death is pending.
