German Doctor Travels Thousands of Miles to Marry Young Man She Met on Roblox

A story that seems straight out of a movie—or the internet—became real: a German doctor decided to travel to Pakistan to marry a young man she met playing Roblox.

Selma, a 26-year-old doctor with German and Bosnian citizenship, met Muhammad Akmal, a 22-year-old Pakistani man, while they were both playing online. What began as simple conversations within the game quickly transformed into a deeper emotional connection.

According to Akmal himself, he proposed to her practically from the first day they started talking, although she took some time to decide to travel.

After about five months of constant communication, Selma finally boarded a plane and traveled thousands of kilometers to meet him in person… and get married.

From Europe to a village in Pakistan

The meeting took place in a rural area of ​​the Mandi Bahauddin district, where the young man lives with his family. The wedding was celebrated there with the support of both families, in a ceremony that involved significant expenses for both the trip and the event.

Selma confessed that at first, she was surprised by life in the village: washing clothes by hand, baking traditional bread, and adapting to new customs were some of the initial challenges. Even so, she says that she has gradually gotten used to it and is happy with her decision.

She has even started learning Urdu and Punjabi to communicate better with her new family.

A viral (and controversial) story

The story quickly went viral on social media, where many see it as proof that love can blossom anywhere… even in a video game.

Others, however, question the unusual nature of the story: cultural differences, language, and even the fact that the relationship began online have sparked debate.
