White lioness and tiger attack: Owner is injured while feeding his pets

The viral version on social networks that suggests that the felines prevented a robbery in the mansion is denied

Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua, Mexico - A man identified as Erick Noé Romero Meraz, 41, suffered serious injuries when he was attacked by a white lioness and a Bengal tiger while trying to feed them in his home in the exclusive Rincones de San Marcos subdivision in Ciudad Juárez Juarez.

The incident occurred around 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 7, 2018, when the Municipal Police received a report about the attack. Upon arriving at the home on Plateros Norte Street, they found Erick Noé with injuries to his arms, leg and neck, all of which were serious.

The authorities located the two felines, a white lioness and an approximately one-year-old Bengal tiger, in the patio of the residence. The animals attacked their owner while he was trying to feed them. The severity of the injuries led to police intervention and the case was referred to the Federal Environmental Protection Agency (Profepa).

According to the Profepa report, the felines did not have the corresponding registration or the authorized management plan. Furthermore, the safety conditions for the stay and containment of the animals were not guaranteed. The white lioness had previously attacked the owner, causing significant injuries.

The felines were secured and transferred to an authorized place with adequate facilities for their attention and care. The legal status and fate of the animals are expected to be determined by the competent authorities.

It should be noted that a false story about the incident is circulating on social networks, stating that it was two thieves who entered the mansion to rob the mansion and that the felines prevented the robbery. This version is incorrect and has been denied by local authorities.
