Assault on application driver culminates in capture

Belo Horizonte, Brazil. In a dramatic incident recorded by a car security camera, an app driver in Belo Horizonte experienced terrifying moments when his passenger became violent, threatening him with a knife and committing a robbery. Elvis Duarte de Oliveira, 34, was involved in the nightmare when Fabiano Messias de Oliveira Leite, 18, boarded his vehicle demanding a different route.
The incident occurred on Thursday (18) around seven in the morning in the Milionários neighborhood, in the Barreiro region. The camera captured the moment in which the attacker threatened Elvis with a knife, forcing him to change route. During the trip, Fabiano demanded a money transfer, depriving the driver of his belongings, including the vehicle.
After the attacker abandoned the car, Elvis managed to contact the police. Authorities quickly intercepted the vehicle and detained Fabiano with the stolen items in his possession, ensuring a quick and effective response.
The police report reveals that the suspect claimed to have carried out the robbery on the orders of a drug trafficker from the Itaipú neighborhood, adding an additional layer of complexity to the case.
Elvis, the victim, expressed his relief at recovering his belongings and noted the importance of being alert on the job, remembering that "serving all types of passengers in all places" comes with the responsibility of paying attention to details.
