Tragedy in Argentina: Teenager and man electrocuted during floods

The municipality of Valentín Alsina, in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, was the scene of a tragedy during the recent storm that hit the region. A 14-year-old teenager, identified as Marcos Aldana S., is fighting for his life in critical condition after suffering an electric shock while walking through the flooded streets of the town.

The tragic incident took place last Tuesday, March 12, in the afternoon, at the intersection of Haiti and Membrillar streets, when Marcos, while trying to return to the sidewalk, came into contact with a light pole and suffered an electric shock. Security cameras captured the heartbreaking moment in which the young man fell to the ground after the impact.

Local neighbors came to his aid when they heard his cries of pain. Among them, a brave resident began performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) maneuvers until the ambulance arrived. Romina, one of the witnesses to the event, recounted the desperate fight to save the life of the young man, who alternated between consciousness and unconsciousness while receiving medical attention.

The staff of the Lanús 3rd section and the SAME emergency service intervened quickly, transferring Marcos to the Evita Hospital in Lanús, where he was admitted in critical condition and remains with a reserved prognosis.

Second Case

This tragic event is added to another that occurred during the storm in the same town, where the discovery of the body of a man was reported at the intersection of Habana and Coronel Dulce streets. The authorities are working on the identification and causes of his death, which could be related to a possible electrocution.

Prosecutor María Silvina Bussano, in charge of the investigation, has ordered the sending of the man's body to the Ezpeleta morgue to perform an autopsy and clarify the details of his tragic death.
