GASERA workers defend assailants sprinkling them gas
Gasera workers in Valle de Chalco defended themselves from an assault spraying gas to their attackers
In Valle de Chalco, State of Mexico, there was an assault that stunned the residents of the area. Two workers from a gasa in Caseta Vieja lived moments of terror when they were surprised by an assailant couple, a man armed with a gun and a woman, who demanded their belongings and the money from the box.
A video, which recently came to light even though the events occurred in 2022, shows how employees did their work when they were approached by criminals. While the man pointed to them with a gun, the woman approached to demand her belongings. The workers, appearing obedience, were forced to follow the orders of the assailants. One of them was forced to sit in a chair while the robbery was developed.
In a moment of carelessness from the thieves, one of the workers saw an opportunity to defend themselves. Discreetly approached the gas hose and, taking advantage of the distraction of the assailants, opened the valve sprinkling them with the flammable fuel. The thief was the one who received the largest gas discharge, which made her fall to the floor and desperately ask.
For his part, the armed assailant reacted firing at one of the employees, hurting him in his leg. Despite the wound, the bravery of the worker and the risk of a possible fire due to the large amount of gas in the environment forced the criminals to flee the place.
It has been confirmed that the injured worker recovered from the shot in the leg, but no more updates have been given on possible reprisals by criminals.
Risks of being sprayed with a gas hose
Being sprayed with gas is extremely dangerous due to the highly flammable nature of fuel. In situations such as that occurred in Valle de Chalco, gas could have caused an explosion or a fire with only one spark, which represented a risk for both assailants and for workers and any person close to the place.
It is understandable that the worker has chosen to use this means of defense in the face of the threat of a firearm, since he was in a life or death situation and sought the fastest and most effective way to neutralize the attackers.
