Motel owner murdered by troublesome tenant

A conflict related to monetary debts triggered a tragic event in Vietnam


In Go Cong Tay district, Tien Giang province, Vietnam, an event has shaken the local population. According to information shared by the authorities, on May 10, a homicide took place in a guesthouse located at the intersection of Tan Long, Thanh Loi village, Binh Tan commune.

The owner of the motel, identified as Tan Phuc, 42, lost her life in the middle of a conflict related to monetary debts. According to witnesses, the victim was having a dispute with a tenant in room number 7 due to an outstanding debt.

The situation reached a critical point when, around 8:15 a.m., the tenant broke into the kitchen where the woman was cooking, using a knife to attack her.




Seriously injured, Tan Phuc tried to call for help, but eventually collapsed in the living room and lost her life. Meanwhile, the attacker returned to her room and, faced with the weight of his actions, decided to take his own life.

Reports suggest that this was not an isolated incident, as there had previously been numerous conflicts between the victim and the suspect, all related to financial matters. In fact, the murderer had threatened on several occasions to end the life of the motel owner.

Local authorities have also launched an investigation to further clarify the details of this tragic event.
