Retired Military Policeman Foils Robbery and Kills Criminal

In a dramatic episode that occurred last Saturday (July 27) in the Campo Limpo neighborhood, south of São Paulo, Brazil, a retired military policeman foiled an attempted robbery and killed the criminal involved. According to the Public Security Secretariat of São Paulo, the retired policeman was in a commercial establishment on Avenida Anacé when a thief tried to steal a delivery man's motorcycle.

The establishment's security cameras captured the exact moment of the incident. In the images, the former agent, dressed in a green blouse, can be seen being served at the counter. Meanwhile, the delivery man leaves and returns from the establishment with purchased goods. At that moment, a man in a black T-shirt approaches and tries to start the motorcycle.

The delivery man, noticing the robbery, runs to his vehicle and tries to stop the suspect, who pulls out a gun. The retired police officer, seeing what was happening, identified himself and ordered the arrest of the criminal. However, the robber shot first (the police report says), causing the officer to respond with several shots.

The 24-year-old criminal was taken to the municipal hospital in Campo Limpo, where he died. Five gold rings were found next to him, stolen in previous robberies in the same area.

The belongings were recovered and returned to the victims. In addition, the robber's gun and the retired police officer's gun were seized.

Neither the police officer nor the criminal have been identified. The case has been registered as robbery and homicide, with the death resulting from police intervention.
