PM dies tragically on his birthday while working on highway
The second lieutenant died tragically after being run over while working on his birthday on the MT-449 highway
In a tragic coincidence, Robson Bernardino da Silva, an officer of the Military Police of Mato Grosso, lost his life on Saturday, August 17, the day he turned 46, after being run over while performing his duties on the MT-449 highway, in Lucas do Rio Verde, in the north of the state.
The incident occurred when Robson approached a vehicle parked on the side of the road, marked with cones, a moment that was captured by a security camera. At that moment, a truck traveling on the road hit him, causing serious injuries.
Despite the efforts of his colleagues and the truck driver himself, who immediately tried to assist him, Robson was rushed to a local hospital, where he unfortunately did not survive his injuries.
Robson Bernardino da Silva had dedicated 26 years of his life to military service, having started his career in 1998. Currently, he worked in the General Assistance department, at the General Command Headquarters in Cuiabá. His departure leaves a deep void in the institution, where he was respected for his professionalism and dedication.
The general commander of the PMMT, Colonel Alexandre Corrêa Mendes, expressed his sorrow in an official statement, highlighting the qualities of Second Lieutenant Robson and extending his condolences to the officer's family and his colleagues.
"The entire troop is in mourning and we are entirely united in this moment of pain, providing all assistance to the relatives and reinforcing our work. The Second Lieutenant was an exemplary professional in our institution, an example to follow for all," said Colonel Mendes.
