Virginia couple faces charges after attack at pizza shop over wrong order. 24-year-old employee seriously injured


Norfolk, Virginia – An argument over a wrong pizza order escalated into a violent attack, leaving a Mod Pizza worker seriously injured. Catherine Natasha Harper, 45, and her husband, Corey Trelain Harper, 47, both of Chesapeake, face charges for a violent incident that occurred Sunday in Norfolk.

According to court documents, Catherine Harper got into a heated argument with a 24-year-old employee of the pizzeria, accusing him of getting her order wrong.

She then contacted her husband and demanded that he “handle the situation.” Corey Harper then went to the establishment, where he attacked the worker with a knife, stabbing him multiple times in the torso and causing severe injuries.

The victim was rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for serious but non-life-threatening injuries to his intestines. After the attack, the Harpers fled the scene, but were later located and arrested by Norfolk police.

Catherine Harper faces charges of conspiracy to commit malicious assault, while Corey Harper was also charged with assault and possession of a firearm. Both appeared in court on Monday and are being held without bail. The next hearing is scheduled for January 14, 2025.

In an official statement, Mod Pizza expressed its dismay at the incident, assuring that they are fully cooperating with the authorities. “We are deeply concerned about what happened and are focused on supporting our team member while he recovers. This unfortunate episode leads us to reinforce the training of our employees and to reevaluate our values ​​as an organization," the company said.
