The tragedy occurred last Monday, April 29 at 10:38 am, investigators in Karachay-Cherkessia have begun an inspection to clarify the circumstances.
The press service of the investigative department of the Russian Investigative Committee for the republic reported on the situation. According to the statement, the incident took place near the Muruju River in Dombay village.
The family stopped their car on the road, in the middle of a wooded area. The mother and her two children descended first. In a survival instinct, the mother ran for her life, but unfortunately, her youngest son was hit by a falling tree, leaving him fatally injured.
Forensics recovered the child's body, and the authorities have indicated that they are implementing a series of verification measures to clarify all the circumstances of the incident.
In addition, it has been revealed that the event was recorded on security cameras, which has led the police to investigate the reasons why the mother and son got out of the car in the middle of the road, possibly after an argument.
