A 44-year-old motorcyclist lost his life in a tragic accident that occurred on Sunday, October 20, on the MG-217, a highway that connects the cities of Teófilo Otoni and Poté, in the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

The victim, identified as Ulisses Eliziário Júnior, was filmed by a witness while he was traveling at high speed at the request of the driver himself, who would reach 200 km/h. Unfortunately, the motorcyclist was unable to avoid colliding with a car that was making an unexpected left turn.

The accident occurred on a straight road near the community of Sucanga, in the municipality of Poté. In the recorded video, the vehicle can be seen entering the opposite lane when trying to access a dirt road.

Ulisses, not having time to react, hit the rear of the car hard. The impact was so severe that the motorcyclist was thrown several meters and died instantly at the scene of the accident.

The motorcycle was completely destroyed, with parts scattered on the road and a nearby slope. The car involved also suffered serious damage.

The driver of the car, a 57-year-old man, and his passenger, 25, suffered minor injuries and were taken to local hospitals. Police authorities confirmed that the driver of the car showed no signs of alcohol consumption after undergoing a breathalyzer test at the hospital.

Civil Police experts went to the scene to carry out the technical procedures and released Ulisses' body for transfer to the Forensic Medical Institute (IML). Ulisses Eliziário Júnior lived in Ladainha, about 40 kilometres from Teófilo Otoni.
