Martha Paola Salcedo, sister of soccer player Carlos Salcedo, was murdered while leaving a circus in Huixquilucan
Huixquilucan, State of Mexico. On Saturday, June 29, Martha Paola Salcedo, sister of the well-known Cruz Azul soccer player, Carlos Salcedo, was murdered in a tragic event while leaving the Bardum circus in Huixquilucan. The Attorney General's Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) and local authorities confirmed the unfortunate event.
The event occurred around 8:10 p.m. on the Río Hondo - Huixquilucan highway, in San Cristóbal Texcalucan, near the Kartódromo. Paola reportedly left the circus to take a phone call when she was attacked. Witnesses reported that when approaching a white truck with tinted windows and no license plates, she was attacked directly from another vehicle whose occupants fled the scene.
The authorities of the Huixquilucan city council were alerted of an alleged direct attack against a woman from a van in the El Arenal neighborhood through the Control, Command, Communication and Computing Center (C-4). Despite the quick response of the General Directorate of Public Security and Roads and the Rescue Unit, upon arriving at the scene, the victim was no longer there. Witnesses indicated that Paola was put into the white van by her companions, who left the scene.
The Government of Huixquilucan remains attentive to the investigations carried out by the FGJEM, and has shown its willingness to collaborate in clarifying the case.
Who was Martha Paola Salcedo?
Martha Paola Salcedo Hernández, born on April 20, was the second daughter of Carlos Joel and María Isabel, parents of Carlos Salcedo. She studied Public Relations and stood out as an influencer and host of sports programs, in addition to being a communication manager.
Paola was part of the "Flock Leaders" program, which generated tensions with her brother Carlos. In 2018, Carlos publicly accused his family of mishandling his career, including his sister, due to disputes related to his divorce. The apparent reconciliation between Paola and Carlos occurred in 2020 when she became the mother of Luka Vikonis, the result of his relationship with the Uruguayan goalkeeper Nicolás Vikonis.
Her relationship with Vikonis did not prosper and, although they shared custody of his son, they separated. The Salcedo Hernández family has kept the tragedy private, and so far, Nicolás Vikonis has not issued any statement about Paola's loss.
