Wisconsin Mother Kills Daughter to Protect Her from Elon Musk
A 911 call, a family crime, and a baffling confession mark this case that has shocked Wisconsin
A 41-year-old woman was arrested in Wisconsin after confessing to murdering her teenage daughter in an incident that has generated shock and bewilderment due to her stated motive: to "protect" her from entrepreneur Elon Musk.
Tyiece Oninski, a resident of Beloit, called the Rock County Sheriff's Office on March 20 and, during a call lasting approximately 13 minutes, admitted to killing her 14-year-old daughter the previous night.
According to the probable cause affidavit, the woman coldly recounted how she stabbed the child inside the home she shared with the girl's grandfather.
In the same call, when the operator asked if her daughter needed medical assistance, she replied, "She's dead, honey. She needs a hearse."
The defendant also claimed that, after attacking the child, she used the same knife to injure herself in an attempt to take her own life. She later said she lay down next to her daughter's body before making the 911 call.
Authorities arrived at the scene and proceeded with her immediate arrest.
Drugs in her system
The toxicology report revealed that Oninski had three different types of drugs in her system at the time of the incident, which could be a key factor in the development of the legal case and in the evaluation of her mental state.
Oninski faces a charge of first-degree intentional homicide and remains in custody with bail set at one million dollars. He is scheduled to appear in court on April 14.
Meanwhile, family and friends of the victim have started a GoFundMe campaign to cover funeral expenses and support the teenager's brother. In the post, they describe the loss as "unimaginable" and mourn the death of a young woman of only 14 years old, "taken far too soon."
