22-Year-Old Mother Murdered Her Own 3-Year-Old Daughter After Suffering a Rage

A painful tragedy struck the San Sebastián neighborhood of Manizales last Saturday, July 26, when a 3-year-old girl, identified as Antonella, lost her life after suffering a serious neck injury. The prime suspect in this incident is her own mother, Silvana Torres, 22, who remains in police custody while the investigation progresses.

The incident occurred around 11:40 a.m. when neighbors alerted authorities after hearing desperate screams coming from the home where the mother and daughter lived.

According to witnesses, Silvana allegedly attacked the minor during a rage attack, possibly triggered by her recent breakup with her partner.

People close to the young woman indicate that she was going through a severe emotional crisis stemming from the separation, supposedly caused by recurring bouts of jealousy.

Antonella was found with a deep wound in her neck caused by a sharp object. In videos recorded by residents of the area, a first aider can be seen urgently carrying the girl into an ambulance.

She was taken to the SES Hospital in Caldas, where she was admitted in cardiac arrest. Despite medical efforts and emergency surgery (thoracotomy), the minor did not survive.

The mother also suffered injuries that, according to the police report, were allegedly self-inflicted with the same instrument. She was taken to a health center and remains in stable condition, under medical supervision and police custody.

The impact of the news caused a stir in the neighborhood. Some residents, upon learning of the incident, attempted to attack the young woman, creating a moment of high tension. Police and firefighters were called in to disperse the crowd. During the clashes, some first responders were injured by the mob.

The Prosecutor's Office has launched a formal investigation to clarify the events and determine the precise circumstances of the case. Meanwhile, the community of the San Sebastián neighborhood remains immersed in grief and disbelief over the loss of little Antonella.
