Young people arrested for confusing an ex-boyfriend and accidentally killing a 71-year-old woman

The tragic story of a 71-year-old woman killed by mistake during a shooting reveals an unexpected fact

Mexico City - Mexico City authorities revealed a surprising fact in the case of the 71-year-old woman recently murdered during a shootout perpetrated by young people on motorcycles. Contrary to the initial version of the attackers, who claimed to be pursuing a "stalker", investigations reveal that the real target was the ex-boyfriend of the current partner of one of the young people.

The tragic incident occurred a few days ago when Layonet Alamia, Erick Alamia and Geraldin Ruiz, high school students, carried out a shootout in the street. Unfortunately, the 71-year-old woman was in the wrong place at the wrong time and fell victim to the fatal mistake.

A video of the incident shows the young people on motorcycles, when one of them drops the girl who was accompanying him and then accelerates, accidentally shooting the 71-year-old woman.

The youths, who face murder charges, initially argued that they were acting in defense of Geraldine Ruiz Molina, 19, who was allegedly being harassed by a schoolmate. According to her version, "El Bola", Geraldine's boyfriend and a 17-year-old hitman, could not make the alleged harasser leave her alone, and they decided to take extreme measures.

However, investigations revealed that the targeted individual was Geraldine's former high school boyfriend, who denied the harassment allegations, stating that she was the one looking for him. The tragic outcome left an elderly woman lifeless, while the young people sought to resolve the conflict violently.

The three young people were arrested by the authorities on the same day of the incident. The Public Ministry made the decision to send Erik Alamilla, Layonet Alamilla and Geraldin Ruiz to prison on January 31. Despite his arrest, a formal sentence for the crime committed has not yet been handed down.
