Young Colombian TikToker Found Dead in Her Room

The Colombian TikToker was found dead in her apartment. The investigation seeks to clarify the causes of her death

A tragic event occurred in Mexico City after the death of Asneydi García Garzón, a 26-year-old woman from Medellín, Colombia. The TikToker, who had traveled to Mexico in search of better opportunities, was found dead in her apartment in the Doctores neighborhood, located in the Cuauhtémoc mayor's office.

Asneydi's body was found in her bed next to her favorite stuffed animal and already in a state of decomposition. The search began when her loved ones, worried about the lack of contact, reported her disappearance to the authorities. Agents from the Mexico City Citizen Security Secretariat and the CDMX Prosecutor's Office went to her residence, where they made the tragic discovery.

Authorities are conducting an exhaustive investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Asneydi's death. The autopsy will be crucial to provide additional clues about the causes of her death.

Context of Insecurity for Foreign Women

The case of Asneydi García Garzón is part of a worrying trend of deaths of foreign women in Mexico. Recently, two young Venezuelan women, Steph and Su, were found dead in San Miguel Topilejo, in the Tlalpan municipality. Like Asneydi, both had arrived in Mexico hoping to find better opportunities.

It is presumed that these deaths of young foreign women are related to the territorial wars between local gangs and the Aragua Train of Venezuela. These organizations kidnap and murder women if they do not receive money for their release.

Although Asneydi's case has not yet been directly linked to these incidents, it raises serious concerns about the safety of young foreign women in Mexico.
