Young man fights for his life after attempted murder in front of his family

A quiet family moment turned into a nightmare in Porto Velho, Brazil, when a 20-year-old young man was the target of an attempted murder in a snack bar near the Ana Adelaide Polyclinic. Accompanied by his wife and his barely 2-year-old son, the young man was enjoying a snack after visiting the polyclinic in search of medical attention for his son.

Security cameras captured the chilling moment in which two hitmen on a motorcycle without a license plate approached the scene. The gunman got out of the vehicle and quickly approached the young man, shooting him mercilessly. The victim's body fell on top of his son, causing moments of anguish and terror for the family.

Fortunately, the quick intervention of emergency services allowed the young man to be transferred to a nearby hospital, where he received emergency medical care. However, the severity of his injuries required his transfer to the emergency room of the João Paulo II Hospital. His health is reported to be very serious.

At the crime scene, forensic experts recovered 9 millimeter caliber pistol casings, which will be key pieces in the ongoing investigation by the Homicide department of the Civil Police.

So far, no information has been revealed about the possible motives for the attack nor have the suspects been identified.
