17-year-old boy dies in confusing circumstances in Yaracuy

The 17-year-old girl was shot to the head in front of her house by her partner in Yaracuy

In an unfortunate event that occurred in the La Mora sector, Peña municipality, in Yaracuy, Venezuela, a 17-year-old girl lost her life in the early hours of Sunday, June 30. Anyela Ramos Rengifo was murdered by a shot to the head after returning from a party at a nightclub.

The tragic event took place in front of the young woman's residence, where she was with her romantic partner, Miguel Santeliz, 25, who is a police officer and is currently a fugitive.

According to preliminary information, the couple had gone out with friends to a nightclub and, upon returning home, they decided to continue drinking alcoholic beverages in front of Anyela's house. Minutes later, the young woman's mother heard a detonation and went out to investigate, finding her daughter seriously injured.

Miguel Santeliz, who was with another still unidentified individual, fled the scene on a motorcycle after the crime. Anyela's mother immediately called the authorities, who confirmed that the young woman had been shot in the right eye.

Officials from the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc) of the Yaritagua municipal delegation went to the scene and began investigations to clarify the facts.

The detectives indicated that Anyela had romantic problems with her partner, with a relationship marked by constant arguments and jealousy. The couple had returned from Colombia just a month ago.

Authorities attribute the crime to a jealous attack after returning from the nightclub, although this must be confirmed as the investigation progresses. Miguel Santeliz has been a fugitive since the time of the crime and it is suspected that he has fled to Colombia.
