Man dies after argument at hot pot restaurant

In the city of Baoji, China, a tragic event took place in front of a hot pot restaurant, leaving a man lifeless. According to the Baoji police report, at approximately 11:30 p.m. on May 7, 2024, a call was received reporting a man injured with a knife in the west section of Xinjian Road.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect, identified as Ma, 37, met the victim, Li, after dinner that night. An argument over trivial matters sparked a fight between the two, during which Ma wounded Li in the left thigh with a knife attached to his motorcycle key. The injury to the artery caused Li to collapse on the spot.

The tragic incident was captured on the restaurant's security cameras, showing diners enjoying their meal as the argument escalated in the background. Despite attempts by others present to calm the situation, Ma attacked Li, causing a fatal wound.

Despite the medical team's efforts to revive him, Li was pronounced dead before reaching the hospital, after being transported in an ambulance.

The police from Erlu Police Station have taken over the case and Ma has been subjected to criminal measures in accordance with the law. He will be charged with intentional homicide and an investigation will be conducted to determine the exact circumstances that led to this tragedy.
