A 34-year-old man was killed by police after attacking an officer with a knife in the North Industrial Zone of Joinville, Brazil. The incident occurred on Monday night (July 8), around 11:20 p.m.

The event began when Military Police were called to attend to an incident in which a man had set fire to a vehicle and subsequently fled the scene. When located by an agent, the man took a knife from his waist and began to press it against his chest, threatening to take his own life.
