Man arrested for the murder of his stepdaughter

On the morning of July 7, a tragic incident shook Nga My Commune, Phú Bình District, Thái Nguyên Province, Vietnam, when a man was arrested for the murder of his 22-year-old stepdaughter. The suspect, identified as Hà Văn Tý, had fled the scene of the crime, but was captured shortly after by police in Đồng Hỷ district.

The incident occurred when Hà Văn Tý, 56, a temporary resident of Nga My, lived with the victim's mother, Nguyễn Thị Quỳnh Nga. Tý, who was previously married, was in a romantic relationship with Nga's mother, although they were not legally married (free union).

On the fateful day, around 8:30 in the morning, an argument about a kite was the trigger for this tragedy. Nga, upset with her younger stepbrother Nguyễn Văn Ước (son of her stepfather and her biological mother), began to berate him.

In a fit of anger, Tý interpreted Nga's words as an attack on him and, armed with a wooden stick and a knife, confronted Nga. After a verbal altercation, Tý wounded Nga in the side of her ribs, causing fatal injuries.

After the attack, Tý, realizing the seriousness of the situation, he fled in a taxi to Gốc Thị, in Nam Hòa commune, where he was arrested by local authorities.

Law enforcement agencies are currently consolidating evidence and documents related to the case, and the suspect Hà Văn Tý has been transferred to the Phú Bình District Police to face appropriate charges according to the law.
