Man with extensive record is murdered in a brothel

In another episode of violence in Ecuador, Eduardo Víctor Contreras Sigcho, 41 years old and with an extensive criminal record, was the victim of a fatal shooting in a brothel located in the Pasaje de las Nieves canton, Ecuador.

The tragic event took place around 5:45 in the afternoon on Saturday, April 27 at a night club located on Bolívar Street. According to witness accounts, Contreras was enjoying a few beers in the company of a friend when a young hitman took advantage of an oversight to enter the establishment and open fire on him.

Although the victim collapsed to the ground after the first shots, the aggressor did not hesitate to finish him off with shots to the head before fleeing the scene on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice. Chaos took over the brothel, with people running to take shelter from the gunfire and avoid being injured.

When the National Police arrived, it was confirmed that Contreras had lost his life at the scene.

The victim had a significant criminal history, with four previous arrests for serious crimes, including attempted murder, conspiracy, murder and possession of a firearm.

In one case, he had been sentenced to three years in prison for shooting an individual in the face, who miraculously survived. Contreras was free while appealing the sentence, and an upcoming hearing was expected in his case.
