Man attacks friend with ax in revenge for wife's death

A violent incident occurred in Bundi, India, when a man attacked his friend with an ax at a cultural event, motivated by accumulated resentment over the death of his wife in a road accident a year ago.

The accused, identified as 45-year-old Tejmal Gurjar, is still absconding as the police have registered a case against him under sections 323, 307 and the SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act of the IPC. The victim, 40-year-old Banwari Meena, was seriously injured in the attack and is being treated at a private hospital in Kota, where her condition is described as critical.

According to statements by the SHO at Kapren police station, Kamal Singh, Meena and Gurjar were close friends. However, everything changed when Meena lost control of the tractor she was driving last year, resulting in the death of Gurjar's wife in the accident. Since then, Gurjar blamed Meena for the tragedy and was looking for an opportunity to take revenge on her.

The opportunity came during a cultural event in the village, where Gurjar burst in from behind a curtain and attacked Meena with an axe, leaving him seriously injured. A video of the incident, which went viral on social media, showed the moment of the attack, triggering public condemnation and an active search for Gurjar by authorities.

Police urge anyone with information about Gurjar's whereabouts to immediately contact local authorities for his capture.
