Man shot dead in front of his son in Santa Cecília, Paraíba

A tragic episode took place on the morning of this Thursday, August 22, in Santa Cecília, in the Agreste region of Paraíba, Brazil. Josimar Félix, a 49-year-old security guard, was shot dead as he left his house with his 4-year-old son. The attack was captured by a security camera at 9:38 a.m., showing the victim's last moments before being shot down.

In the video, Josimar and his son can be seen getting on a motorcycle just before a car arrives at the scene. Two armed men get out of the vehicle and open fire on it. Although Josimar tries to escape, the attackers chase him and shoot him repeatedly until he is left dead. The boy, in a state of shock, witnesses the whole crime around him, while the attackers flee in the car.

A few moments after the crime, a woman who lives in a neighbouring house comes out to help the boy, taking him in her arms. This attack shocked the neighbours of the neighbourhood.

According to the delegate Suelane Guimarães, Josimar Félix was under investigation for his alleged involvement in a homicide that occurred last year in the city of Umbuzeiro.

In addition, he was suspected of other crimes in the region, which could be related to the motive for the murder.

The Civil Police is still investigating the case, although so far the perpetrators have not been identified nor has the exact motivation behind this act been clarified.
