In an incident recorded in the Venustiano Carranza municipality of Mexico City, two men, one of them in a wheelchair, were arrested by the authorities after stabbing a man of approximately 50 years old, who lost his life due to the severity of the injuries. The events occurred in the Popular Rastro neighborhood, where those involved had a heated argument with the victim.
According to reports, the two attackers, identified as Javier López, a 27-year-old man in a wheelchair, and his 33-year-old accomplice, confronted the victim near Avenida Honorable Congreso de la Unión and Calle Aluminio.
In the midst of the dispute between the victim and his accomplice, Javier López quickly approached in his wheelchair, pulled out a sharp weapon and attacked the victim, causing a fatal wound to the abdomen. Witnesses at the scene alerted the elements of the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC), who, with the support of the operators of the Command and Control Center (C2) North, implemented a virtual cordon to locate those responsible.
The attackers were located minutes later on Avenida Congreso de la Unión and Calle Pintores, in the Janitzio neighborhood. Upon being intercepted, the police carried out a security check, finding among their belongings a knife of approximately 15 centimeters, the weapon with which they are presumed to have committed the attack. The two individuals were transferred to the Public Prosecutor's Office to determine their legal situation.
Paramedics from the Emergency Medical Care System (SAMU) went to the scene of the incident, but unfortunately the victim no longer showed vital signs. The residents of the Venustiano Carranza municipality are asking for justice for the deceased.
