Policeman dies after injuring himself to avoid arrest in Argentina

The sergeant of the Córdoba Police dies after carrying out a criminal raid that involved the theft of a vehicle

Nicolás Loases, a 35-year-old sergeant of the Córdoba Police, lived a day of crime that culminated tragically in an incident that has left everyone surprised. The incident began in the Nuevo Poeta Lugones neighborhood, where Loases, using a firearm, stole a white Chevrolet Prisma car from a woman. The police later located the vehicle in Puerto Rico at 2,000, Talleres neighborhood, where the sergeant abandoned it and fled on foot, starting a chase.

A revealing video captured the moments before Loases was wounded, showing how he jumped over a fence and tried to escape across the roofs. As he became cornered, he self-harmed his head on at least two occasions. He was left lying on the porch of a house, without reaction, and was immediately transferred to the Emergency Hospital.

According to medical sources, the sergeant suffered a significant loss of brain mass, indicating that the wounds were consistent with self-inflicted gunshots.

Although the agents responded with their weapons during the confrontation, there are currently no charges against them, although his intervention is under investigation.

Loases, who carried out administrative work and did not carry his service weapon due to previous restrictions, surprised his colleagues with his unexpected criminal incursion. Although there is no criminal record against him, the prosecution seeks to understand the days prior to the attack through the testimony of his family and colleagues in the force.
