Student dies after hanging from a goal during Physical Education class

A regrettable event occurred this Monday, September 30 at the Colegio de Bachilleres de Tabasco, campus 35, located in the municipality of Cárdenas, where a 16-year-old student lost his life after being hit by a metal goal that collapsed while playing soccer on the institution's field. The young man, identified as Antonio Mora Cruz, was in the first semester in the morning shift.

The tragic event occurred during Physical Education class, when the student hung himself from a goal that was not properly secured to the floor. The structure did not support the weight and collapsed, hitting his head hard.

The young man's classmates, upon witnessing the scene, reacted immediately and called for help from the teachers, who quickly came to the scene in response to shouts of "Call the ambulance!" and "He's drowning!".

The teachers instructed the students to move the young man and lift his head, despite the fact that this action is not recommended in situations of this type. Efforts to revive Antonio were in vain, since when the Civil Protection paramedics arrived at the scene, the teenager had already died.

After the incident, the Municipal Police came to cordon off the area, while personnel from the Attorney General's Office of the State of Tabasco began the relevant investigations to clarify the exact circumstances of the accident and rule out the responsibility of other people. The school authorities described the event as tragic and deeply regretted the loss of Antonio Mora Cruz.

On social networks, users questioned the safety conditions of the field, criticizing that the goals were not properly fixed. They also pointed out the inappropriate behaviour of some teachers in allowing students to move the injured boy, an action that could have aggravated his condition.
