Zapopan, Mexico - In a violent act that has shocked the community, the deputy operational director of the Zapopan Municipal Police, Carlos Manuel Flores Amezcua, was shot to death last Monday, November 13 in a cafeteria in the La Estancia neighborhood.
The tragic event took place around 10:04 am, when Flores Amezcua was in the establishment and was surprised by a commando made up of two women and two men, who opened fire directly. The shocking images from surveillance cameras reveal the moment in which the hitmen shoot the officer at point-blank range, even after he was already on the ground.
Carlos Manuel Flores Amezcua, with 28 years of service and father of three young people, had dedicated much of his life to his police career. He joined the Guadalajara police station in May 1995 and subsequently joined the Zapopan police, where he played prominent roles, including the ownership of sector 3. The crime scene was cordoned off by elements of the municipal police, who actively collaborate with the Intentional Homicide Investigation Unit of the Jalisco Prosecutor's Office.
Criminalistics experts from the Jalisciense Institute of Forensic Sciences reported that a total of 18 bullet casings were collected at the scene. In addition, a red Nissan X-Trail truck, presumably related to the incident, was seized in the Ciudad del Sol neighborhood.
