Seven suspects arrested after tragic event at Hope 52 in Villahermosa
Local SSPC conducts extensive investigations as governor urges avoidance of rumors
In an unfortunate event recorded on the outskirts of Hope 52 in the Tabasco 2000 area, Villahermosa, three young people lost their lives in an armed confrontation. The local Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC) reported on the arrest of seven individuals linked to the murder of the young people, as part of the Tabasco Seguro operation.
The events occurred during the early hours of Sunday, February 11, 2024, recorded on a security camera and broadcast on social networks, when armed men aboard a truck opened fire on the victims as they left the well-known club.
According to testimonies, the young people had previously had an altercation with their attackers inside the night establishment, who left but later returned to carry out the attack outside the bar.
The State Police responded to the call of shots fired in the area and, as a result of the operation, managed to arrest seven individuals when they were trying to flee. In addition, a firearm and three vehicles were seized, including a Jeep Cherokee truck that was allegedly used during the incident.
The identities of those arrested have not been released by the authorities, but are expected to become clearer as the investigations progress. The bodies of the victims were recovered by forensic medical experts from the State Attorney General's Office, who initiated the corresponding investigations.
