Customer Dies in Shootout While Eating at a Pizzeria

Fortaleza, Brazil - A tragic incident at a pizzeria in the Bairro Mondubim resulted in two deaths, including an innocent customer who was mistakenly shot.

On the night of Friday, June 21, three motorcycles arrived at the establishment with the intention of killing an employee. The assailants fired multiple shots, hitting the delivery person, who was struck several times in the head and died instantly.

Amid the shootout, Romário Tavares de Oliveira, a 30-year-old resident of a nearby condominium, was accidentally wounded while having dinner.

Romário attempted to take cover but was hit in the leg by a bullet that severed his femoral artery, causing significant blood loss. Despite his efforts to find safety, he collapsed just a few meters from the scene.

Security cameras captured the dramatic moment Romário tried to flee and fell to the ground. The Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (SSPDS) reported that the Military Police, Civil Police, and Forensic Expertise were dispatched to the scene to begin the investigation. The case is being investigated by the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP).

Witnesses suggest that the true target of the attackers was the delivery person, who worked as a subcontractor for the pizzeria and other businesses in the area. Authorities have not released his identity.
