44-year-old truck driver dies during a fight inside a bar

Claudio Rodrigues Pires, a 44-year-old truck driver, was killed in the early hours of Sunday, August 18, 2024 in a tragic incident that occurred in Vila Rica, Mato Grosso, more than 1,200 kilometers from Cuiabá. The event took place in a bar known as "Gauchinho", where a fight broke out between Claudio and six men, resulting in Claudio's death after being stabbed several times in the chest with a knife.

The incident, which occurred at 3 a.m., was reported to the Military Police, who upon arriving at the scene found Claudio lying on the sidewalk in front of the bar, already lifeless. Witnesses at the scene reported that they saw the attacker take out a knife and attack Claudio before fleeing the scene.

Despite efforts to contact emergency services, when doctors arrived, they could only confirm the death of the victim.

Claudio Rodrigues Pires, affectionately known as "Claudião" by his friends and family, was a respected figure in Jataí, Goiás, where he had earned the esteem of many for his charisma and dedication to his work. His death has caused a deep shock, where he will be fondly remembered.

Claudio's body will be transferred to his hometown of Jataí, with arrival scheduled for Monday, August 19. His family has reported that the wake will be held at the funeral home of the municipal memorial, and the burial will take place at 5:00 p.m. at the São Miguel Cemetery, in Jataí.

The Police continue their investigations to find the whereabouts of the attacker, who has not been located so far.
