Murder of the motorcycle taxi owner: Two hypotheses about the motive for the crime

A tragic event shook the São Geraldo neighborhood in Pouso Alegre on the night of Wednesday, July 10. Wadisson Ferreira, 27, owner of a motorcycle taxi company, was murdered with around 15 shots at point-blank range on Av. Vereador Antônio da Costa Rios, the main access road to the neighborhood.

According to the images recorded by the security cameras, Ferreira was at the door of his premises, organizing a table and using his cell phone, when a motorcycle parked in front.

The passenger, wearing a helmet and covering his face, entered the establishment and opened fire repeatedly at the victim, who was shot at least 15 times. The attacker then left the scene and fled on the motorcycle that was waiting for him outside.

Authorities arrived at the scene shortly after the attack. The Military Police and the Civil Police, together with experts, cordoned off the area to carry out the pertinent investigations. Ferreira's body was transferred to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) of Pouso Alegre.

Currently, the Military Police is carrying out exhaustive investigations and reviewing security camera images to obtain clues that may lead to those responsible for the crime. So far, there has been no information regarding the arrest of the suspects.

The authorities are handling two possible hypotheses about the motivation for the crime. The first suggests a possible fight related to drug trafficking, since Ferreira had a criminal record for robbery and trafficking. The second hypothesis points to a possible passionate revenge, with rumors indicating that Ferreira may have become involved with the wife of a neighborhood drug dealer. These information are preliminary and have not yet been officially confirmed by the police.
