Worker murdered in the middle of war between criminal factions

Manaus, Amazonas - Lucas Figueiredo Rodrigues, 31, known as “Olhão”, was executed with several shots to the head while doing bricklaying work in a store. The incident occurred around 2 p.m. on Friday, June 28, on Rua Penetação 2, in the Novo Aleixo neighborhood, north of Manaus.

The crime was captured on video and circulated on social networks, showing "Olhão" with a tool in hand, painting a wall on a wooden support. He was surprised by two hitmen who threatened him, filmed him and shot him. The images highlight the criminal faction First Capital Command (PCC) of Amazonas, to which the murderers belonged.

Lucas, without understanding the situation, looked at the man who was threatening him and at the cell phone that was filming him before being hit by multiple shots. The hitmen continued shooting even after Lucas fell to the ground, ensuring his death with several shots to the head.

After the murder, the gunmen fled, leaving the victim's co-worker as a witness, who was unharmed.

Lucas had been arrested for drug possession in 2015 and was released in 2017. However, in April 2024, he was tried again for drug trafficking, having an active arrest warrant issued by the courts.

Lucas' murder is related to the dispute between criminal factions for control of drug trafficking in the region. Lucas was a member of the Comando Vermelho (CV), rival of the Primeiro Comando da Capital (PCC), responsible for his execution.

The forensic report revealed that Lucas was shot 12 times in the face, three in the arm and two in the chest. His body was transferred to the Legal Medical Institute (IML) in the northern area.

The Specialized Homicide and Kidnapping Police Station (DEHS) is in charge of the investigation, with support from the Police Scientific Technical Department (DPTC) and the 27th Interactive Community Company (Cicom), which cordoned off the crime area.
