Man Kills Wife Weeks After Wedding, Claims He Was Forced

Man Accused of Murdering Wife Weeks After Wedding; Suspect Claims He Was Forced to Commit the Crime

A shocking case has come to light in Texas, where a man has been accused of brutally murdering his wife just weeks after their wedding.

The main suspect was identified as Francisco Mendez-Marin, a 24-year-old undocumented Mexican immigrant, who was arrested on March 18 in Carrollton, Texas. He is charged with homicide in the death of his 20-year-old wife, Karla Rangel.

According to the police report, the incident occurred inside the couple's apartment. Authorities responded to a disturbance call and upon arrival found the young woman with a severe neck wound, showing no signs of life.

The suspect was also at the scene, his clothes stained with blood and a bloody pocketknife in his possession, directly linking him to the crime.

“I was forced to do it”

One of the most surprising details of the case was captured on the officers' body cameras. There, the man reportedly said phrases in Spanish such as, “I didn't do anything wrong” and “I was forced to do it,” though the reason behind those words has not yet been fully clarified.

The investigation revealed that the couple had married in February 2026, less than a month before the crime.

Authorities believe the murder occurred after a domestic argument that quickly escalated into a homicide.

The case has also generated controversy in the United States due to the accused's immigration status. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), through ICE, requested that the suspect not be released under any circumstances while the legal proceedings continue.

Mendez-Marin is currently being held in a Dallas County jail, facing homicide charges.
