Members of gulf clan burn toll in Antioquia

The terrorist attack by the gulf clan continues to cast doubt on its intentions for peace

The situation in Tarazá, Antioquia has become increasingly critical in recent days, as protesters from the gulf clan participating in the mining strike have burned a tollbooth on the trunk line that runs from Medellín to the Atlantic coast and destroyed the municipality's aqueduct, leaving thousands of people without access to drinking water.

Residents of the area are in dire straits as they do not have access to clean drinking water, which has led to health problems and left many without access to their control medications. According to Paula Posada, a local resident, "the people of this region work for the newspaper, their breakfast, their lunch, their food, and they don't have a way to go out to work, they are enduring hunger."

The situation has become so critical that the army and the police have had to be present in the area to allow the passage of vehicles, including an ambulance carrying a patient with a heart problem.

The authorities are expected to take steps to restore access to drinking water and ensure the safety of local residents.
